How to use your old Passcode to unlock your iPhone or iPad

 

·     Example: iPhone or iPad (iOS 17 and later)

·     Steps:

 

1.  Enter Your Passcode Incorrectly:

·     On your iPhone or iPad, try entering your passcode five times incorrectly.

·     After this youll see a message that says something like “Device Unavailable” and it will ask you try again later.

 

2.  Tap Forget Passcode:

·     Once the device shows the Unavailable screen, look for the Forget Passcode? Option at the bottom of the screen.

·     Tap it to move forward with resetting your passcode.

 

 

                       

 

 

3.  Choose Enter Pervious Passcode:

·     After tapping Forget Passcode? Youll see an option that say Enter Previous Passcode.

·     Tap on this option to proceed.

 

 

4.  Enter Your Old Passcode.

·     Now, enter the old passcode (the passcode you used before changing to your new one).

·     If the old passcode is correct, it will unlock your device and let you move on to resetting the new passcode.

 

                            

 

5.  Set a New Passcode:

·     Ater entering the old passcode, you will be prompted to a set a new passcode.

·     Follow the onscreen instructions to create a new passcode that you’ll be able to remember.

 

Note:

·     Time Limit: This Passcode Reset feature only works within 72 hours of changing your passcode. After 72 hours, you wont able to use the old passcode and will have to use other recovery methods.

·     Change Passcode Immediately: Once you use your old passcode to unlock your device, youll be required to set a new passcode right away.
