How to Fix Broken Registry Issues on Windows

·     Steps:

 

1.  Using the Disk Cleanup Tool:

This tool removes junk files and clears minor registry problems.

·      Press Windows key + R type cleanmgr → press Enter.

 

                

 

·      From the dropdown, select your main drive (usually C:).

·      Click Clean up system files.

                     

 

·      Select the drive again click OK.

 

                    

 

 

·      Wait for the scan click OK → Choose Delete Files.

 

2.  Run the sfc /scannow and DISM:

These tools scan and repair damaged system files.

·      Press Windows Key + S type CMD right-click Command select Run as administrator.

 

                   

 

·      Type these commands one by one (Press Enter after each).

o  Sfc /scannow

o  DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

 

3.  Automatic Repair tool:

Windows can automatically repair registry issues using this tool.

·      Turn on your PC hold the power button for 10 second to shut it down.

·      Repeat this Process twice.

·      On the third re-start, Windows will open the Recovery Environment.

·      Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.

 

                 

·      Let the Startup repair tool scan and fix your computer.

·      Restart your PC to check if the issue is resolved.

 

4.  Run a Malware Scan:

Malware can corrupt the registry. Running a scan helps remove threats.

·      Open the Settings app by clicking Windows key + I.

·      Next, go to Privacy & Security > Windows Security.

·      Click on “Open Windows Security”.

·      Click “Virus & Threat Protection”.

·      Then click on Scan Options.

 

           

 

·      After Selecting Full Scan > Click on the Scan Now button.

 

            

 

5.  Revert to a previous Windows restore point:

·      Press Windows key + R → type rstrui press Enter.

 

                  

 

 

·      Choose restore point from the list click Next.

 

                 

 

·      Click Finish → your PC will restart and restore settings.
