to Fix hard Drive Not Detected or Failing on Windows

Steps:
1.
Check
Cable Connection:
Sometimes the hard drive doesn’t show up due to Lose or
damaged cables.
·
Turn
off your computer.
·
Open
the case and check the cables connected to the hard drive.
·
Make
sure the cables are tight and not cut or damaged.
·
Restart
your PC and see if the drive shows up.
2.
Change
Drive Letter:
If two drives have the same letter, one might not show up.
·
Open
Disk Management.
·
Right-click
the drive that has no letter or says “New Volume”.
·
Choose
Change Drive Letter and Paths.
·
Click
Change, pick a new letter, and hit OK.
3.
Update
the Driver:
Sometimes the driver is outdated or not working right.
·
Right-click
This PC and choose Manage.
·
Go
to Device Manager, then expand Disk Drivers.
·
Right-click
the drive that’s not working, and choose Update Driver.
·
Select
Search automatically for drivers.
4.
Format
the Drive to NTFS:
If your driver is RAW or has a file system that windows doesn’t
support, formatting it to NFTS can help.
·
Press
Win + X
and choose Disk Management.
·
Find
your hard drive, right-click it, and choose Format.
·
Select
NTFS, check Quick Format, then click OK.
5.
Initialize
the Drive:
·
Right-click
This PC and select Manage.
·
Go
to Disk Management.
·
Right-click
This PC and select Manage.
·
Right-click
the new drive and choose Initialize Disk.
·
Pick
MBR or GPT, click OK.
