Photoshop CS5 Save Errors

Are you having trouble saving a psd project since upgrading to Adobe Photoshop CS5? The solution may be as simple as changing a setting. A client we have was having the files disappear when opening and saving directly to the server sharepoint. We would reproduce the error as follow.

  1. 1. Open .psd file from the server
  1. 2. Make changes
  1. 3. Save
  1. 4. If you receive the error message: "Could not save as "" because an unexpected end-of-file was encountered"
  1. 5. Click OK
  1. 6. File disappears from the server
  1. 7. Save again
  1. 8. Save As prompt appears
  1. 9. Same location is selected with same file name. The file saves correctly.

Using SSD on Macbook

We resolved the issue by changing one setting, and it may also works for you: If you wish to use a third party SSD on your Macbook you have many options. The easiest and quickest way if to order your macbook with the preinstalled SSD from Apple. This is obviously the most expensive way. You can also replace the internal hard drive with a third party SSD drive for example a very fast OCZ Vertex 2 but since your replacing a larger spinning drive with an SSD you will loose a lot of space but gain system boot and application load speed. There is an alternative that gives you both speed and storage space. You can replace the DVD drive with a second drive. I know this sounds crazy to some people but think when was the last time you actually put a CD/DVD disk in your laptop. If you install a third party SSD you will need to enable Trim using this application. This will help you extend the life and reliability of your drive. Groths.org Enabler
