How to add AD User In MacOS

1. Open System Preferences :

·       Click on the Apple menu () in the top-left corner of the screen.

·       Select System Preferences from the dropdown menu.




2. Go to Users & Groups

·         In the System Preferences window, click on Users & Groups



3. Access Login Options

·         Click the lock icon at the bottom left to unlock settings.

·         Enter your administrator username and password when prompted.

·         Select Login Options from the sidebar.






4. Join Network Account Server

·         In the Login Options section, click on the Join button next to Network Account Server.

5. Open Directory Utility

·         Click Open Directory Utility in the pop-up window.


6.Bind to Active

       Directory

·         Select Active Directory from the list on the left.

7. Enter AD Domain Information

·         1. Active Directory Domain: Your AD domain name (e.g., example.com).

·         2. Click Bind.

8. Enter AD Credentials

    a) Enter the Username and Password of an AD account with permissions to join computers to the domain

       b) Click OK.



      9. Complete the Binding

      ·         Click Bind or OK to complete the process.

      ·         You may need to restart your Mac for the changes to take effect.

       

      10. Verify AD User Login

      ·         After restarting, try logging in with an AD user account.

      ·         Enter the AD username and password to confirm that the Mac authenticates the AD user correctly.
