How to Enable File-Vault on Mac

 

·     Example: macOS

·     Steps:

 

1.  Open System Preferences:

·     Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner of your screen.

·     Select System Preferences.

 

       

2.  Navigate to Security & Privacy:

·     In the System Preferences window, click Security & Privacy.

 

 

 

3.  Go to the File-Vault Tab:

·     In the Security & Privacy window, select the File-Vault tab at the top.

 

    

 

4.  Unlock to Make Changes:

·     Click the lock icon in the bottom-left corner.

·     Enter your Mac Password when prompted to Unlock.

 

  

 

5.  Turn On Fire-Vault:

·     Click on turn on Fire-Vault

 

 

6.  Choose a Recovery Option:

#   Select how to unlock your disk if forget your password:

·     Apple ID: Use your Apple ID to recover Access.

·     Recovery Key: Save or write down unique key for recovery.

   

 

7.  Encryption Begins:

·     After setup, encryption starts in the background. You can continue using your Mac while it encrypts.

·     The encryption process may take some time depending on the amount of data on your Mac.
